Man Violates Protection Order, Assaults Woman At Work As She Tries To Call 911, Police Say

A 32-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly violating a protective order and assaulting a woman by grabbing her neck and throwing her into a door, Milford Police said.

Louis Perez, of Milford, was arrested around 12:30 a.m., Thursday, August 1, on an active warrant, said Officer Joseph Dempsey, of the Milford Police Department.

According to police, Perez is accused of going to the workplace of a woman who holds the protective order and harassing her, Dempsey said.

Perez is also accused of following the woman home and grabbing her by the neck, throwing her into a door, and stealing her cell phone as she attempted to call 911, Dempsey added.

He was charged with stalking, assault, larceny, interrupting an emergency call, violation of a protective order, and disorderly conduct.

Perez is being held in jail on $25,000 bail.
